Colleton Co. Football Coach/AD Riley Resigns

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) -

Leroy Riley, who's been the head football coach and athletic director at Walterboro/Colleton County High School for the past 24 years has resigned he told Live 5 Wednesday night.

Riley put together a record of 157-140 in his time with the County, but has fallen on hard times in recent years going 5-39 including losing his last 23 games. They haven't reached the playoffs since 2007.

"I reached the decision to step down and it's something I'm very much at peace with" he told Live 5. "I believe things will work out for the best."

Coach Riley won 5 region titles, 2 lower state titles and a state championship in 1997. No word on who a replacement may be.
