CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Wednesday marked the 4th annual Toy Blitz for Debi's Kids and Live 5 News would like to thank everyone who helped put Christmas presents under the tree for Lowcountry children this year.
People donated 3,000 toys during the Toy Blitz. Live 5 News personalities were at four locations collecting toys.
Those toys are in addition to what Debi's Kids and the Salvation Army Angel Tree have already collected.
Your help is still needed as Toy Drive coordinators are still expecting to be short on gifts for all 4,800 children in need.
Salvation Army Capt. Thomas Richmond says that most of the toys they've received are for children under the age of 10, but that there is still a big need for presents for both boys and girls ages 10 to 12.
