Firefighters snuff structure fire in Summerville

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

An abandoned structure caught fire Friday morning with flames shooting more than 10 feet in the air. Firefighters were able to put out the fire around 8 a.m.

According to the Pine Ridge Fire Department, crews responded to a fire located off Highway 17A and Myers Road behind ATP Gun Shop and the Hotspot gas station.

Crews have left the scene after battling the two-story abandoned structure fire.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which broke out around 6 a.m.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation. Crews will return to the scene later this morning to check on the structure and continue their investigation.
