Mendoza To Manage RiverDogs In 2012

CHARLESTON, SC - Carlos Mendoza, who spent the 2010 season with the RiverDogs as their first base coach, will return to Charleston in 2012 as the new manager the team confirmed on Saturday.

Mendoza will replace Aaron Ledesma who spent 1 season in Charleston and tied for the worst record in the league at 55-85.

Mendoza spent last season as the manager for the Gulf Coast League Yankees where they won the division.

The 37 year old native of Venezuela spent part of 2 seasons playing in the Major Leagues with the New York Mets and Colorado Rockies.
