A Moncks Corner woman is facing DUI charges after her car crashed into a home Tuesday night.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Resinwood Drive in Moncks Corner. South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested 28-year-old Angela Tisdale for DUI, driving under suspension and for operating an uninsured vehicle.
Troopers say four people were in the house when the car crashed. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Tisdale was also taken to the hospital. The passenger in her car was not hurt.
Highway Patrol says it appears the car ran off the road and struck a ditch before hitting a parked vehicle and the house. Witnesses say the car was swerving and driving at a high rate of speed before it struck the house.
The homeowner and his wife said they were in the living room watching a movie at the time of the crash and were able to get out of the house and pull the two people from the car.
Homeowner Tina Whitley is still attempting to piece together what happened to her home.
"I'm scared to sit in my living room. I really am. I'm afraid too. I'm just a wreck," said Whitley. "It sounded like an explosion. It happened five feet away from me and I jumped."
The accident caused heavy damage to the house. The car was lifted into the air and away from the house by a towing company and then towed from the scene.
Whitley said she never made it to sleep after that, she just thinks about her mother and her totaled Explorer.
"My mother died and left me this truck and now it's totaled, but if it wasn't there I wouldn't be here. I'd be dead."
