(CNN) - According to a new study by researchers at the University of California Berkeley, the more money you have the less compassionate you are.
They looked at more than 300 college students who came from various economic backgrounds.
The students were split up into three different experiments.
In all of them, researchers found rich or upper middle class students had a harder time expressing compassion than students from lower-income backgrounds.
Researchers say this doesn't mean wealthy people aren't compassionate; they may not be as good at recognizing suffering in others.
