Coroner identifies body that washed up on Sullivan's Island

SULLIVAN'S ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Coroner's Office has identified the body of a woman that washed up on Sullivan's Island on Wednesday.

Authorities say the body has been identified as 25-year-old Tosin Oyelowo of Nigeria. According to authorities, a man found the body around 2 p.m. Wednesday near station 18.

Investigators have not confirmed if Oyelowo was the woman who jumped from the Ravenel Bridge nearly two weeks ago. Charleston police say they recovered the woman's car at the foot of the bridge and some of her personal items.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Charleston County Rescue Squad were assisting in the search.
