Walterboro man displaced after apartment fire

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - An apartment fire has left a Walterboro man without a place to call home Thursday evening in the 100 block of Neyle Street.

The Walterboro Fire Department responded to the apartment complex to help get the blaze under control. The apartment received extensive damage from the fire and the cause is still under investigation.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to help replace food and clothing destroyed in the fire. They have also given him a temporary place to stay.

The Red Cross has assisted 1150 individuals needing aid due to home fire across the lowcountry seven-county regions since January 1st of this year.
