Flames engulf North Charleston home, destroy vehicle

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston firefighters put out a fire early Wednesday morning that destroyed a home near Park Circle.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Buist Avenue. At one point, flames as high as 30 feet were seen coming from the home.

Firefighters say it took nearly an hour to bring the blaze, which also destroyed a vehicle at the home, under control.

Due to renovations, the family was not home at the time of the fire.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
