BEAUFORT, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have identified a man wanted for the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man on Christmas Day.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is looking for 31-year-old Andrew Thomas Bogart wanted on one count of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting that left Adrian Allen Hilliard dead.
According to investigators, Bogart, Hilliard and two other people all allegedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol, were hanging out at Hilliard's Jade Stone Ct residence, passing around a firearm belonging to Bogart.
An incident report states that the weapon was being handled by Bogart when a round was discharged, striking Hilliard in the head.
Hilliard died at short time later after being flown to Savannah for treatment.
Investigators say they have been attempting to locate Bogart for questioning since he fled the incident scene prior to law enforcement arrival.
Investigators say it is believed that he may have since fled the state, possibly headed to New York. Bogart's last known address is 13 Huggins Hollow Ln in Bluffton.
Bogart is a white male, approximately 6'03", 215 lbs with long brown hair, brown eyes, and a goatee. He has a green "Superman" tattoo on his right bicep and a "baby devil with pitchfork" on his right forearm.
