Victims Identified in North Charleston murder-suicide

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say two people have died in a murder-suicide after a domestic dispute at home on Friday evening in North Charleston.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 21-year-old Desma Doctor and the suspect as 24-year-old Kevin Drayton.

The North Charleston Police Department was called out to a home in the 2100 block of Victory Lane near Midland Park Road around 6 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene they found three people suffering from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses told police that Drayton came to the house looking for Doctor. The suspect then got into an argument with Doctor that led him to pulling out a hand gun shooting her.

Police says Doctor's mother came into the room attempting to get between both Drayton and  the victim and was also shot.

According to investigators the suspect then turned the gun on himself.

All three victims were taken to MUSC where both Drayton and Doctor later died. The victim's mother is listed in serious but stable condition.
