Funding approved for Michaux Parkway intersection

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Council approved funding this week to improve the Michaux Parkway Intersection.

According to Councilman Elliott Summey, the money will be used to help alleviate traffic congestion in the area near the Charleston International Airport.

More than $800,000 will be used to widen the intersection and add a free flowing turning lane heading toward Dorchester Road and the airport.

The county is also trying to acquire around $380 million from the State Infrastructure Bank to completely redo Michaux Parkway and South Aviation.
