Bond set at $200k for man suspected of Colleton club shooting

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Bond was set at $210,000 for a 35-year-old man suspected of shooting a man on Saturday following an altercation at a club on Hendersonville Highway in Colleton County.

The Colleton County Sheriff's Office charged Ernest Mondell Sanders with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

On Saturday, deputies responded to 14594 Hendersonville Hwy for a fight in progress. Deputies eventually found the victim at an address on Lowcountry Highway after he managed to drive home and call 911.

The victim said that he was shot in the right arm and was also hit in the back of the head with a board. Deputies arrested Sanders who was found near the crime scene.

A Colleton County Sheriff's Office press release states that the victim and the suspect gave conflicting stories as to the motive of the incident.

The victim was transported to Colleton County Medical Center. The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation.
