Police investigate armed robbery at Summerville Subway

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Police are trying to identify a suspect after a man robbed a Subway on Dorchester Road on Sunday night.

Summerville Police Department officers responded to the sandwich shop at 10125 Dorchester Road just before 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a robbery.

Two employees in the store said a black man dressed in all black clothing came in and said, "Don't make me pull this out, open the safe."

When they told him they couldn't access the safe, he told them to "ring [him] up for a sub or something." One of the employees then opened the cash register, and the suspect fled the scene through the back door.

Employees said the man was wearing gloves and a black ski mask with one slit for the eyes. The witnesses also said that the man was wearing Gucci sun glasses.

Although the man never pulled out a handgun, the employees said they could see a bulge in his waist line which appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol.

If you have any information regarding this crime call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
