Trio busted for crime spree in Georgetown County

GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators have arrested three men in connection with several vehicle break-ins and other crimes that include armed robbery and burglary.

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Justin Tyler Pyatt, 20-year-old Dominique Smith and 18-year-old Larry Dominique Williams in connection to crimes that have plagued Georgetown County since early fall.

On Dec. 29, authorities executed a search warrant at Pyatt's home on Dickinson Drive on Pawleys Island. According to authorities, a multitude of suspected stolen property as well as confirmed stolen property was located and seized at various locations.

An incident report states that investigators found sufficient evidence and information to secure arrest warrants and take the three men into custody.

Pyatt was charged with the Oct. 31, 2011 armed robbery of the Kangaroo Express on 10459 Ocean Highway on Pawleys Island, first-degree burglary, possession of a deadly weapon and second-degree burglary in connection with an incident at Pawley's Plantation on Nov. 29, 2011 and 23 counts of breaking and entering auto charges on various dates and locations.

Smith was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree burglary in connection with an incident at Pawleys Plantation on Nov. 29, 2011. Williams was also charged with the armed robbery of the Kangaroo Express on Oct. 31, 2011 and five counts of receiving stolen goods.

Pyatt, Smith and Williams are currently being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center where they are awaiting a bond hearing for their charges.
