Two people were airlifted to a local hospital Monday afternoon after a wreck on Highway 17 in McClellanville.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident that happened at the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 45 in McClellanville.
Deputies say a Geo Tracker traveling southbound on Highway 17 was clipped in the rear by a pick-up truck crossing Highway 17 from Highway 45.
The two occupants of the Geo Tracker were extricated and airlifted to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic was shut down for some time, but reopened permanently just after 4 p.m.
