NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Funeral arrangements have been set for a 21-year-old woman who was shot and killed by her boyfriend at a North Charleston home last month.
Relatives and friends of Desma Doctor are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul AME Church on 6295 Rivers Ave.
Two days before the New Year, Leoma Bennett says her sister Delaine Doctor, who was also injured in the shooting, was cooking dinner for her daughter Desma and her two children at her home off Rivers Avenue in North Charleston.
Then the unimaginable happened.
"He came over and was searching for the victim," said North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor at the scene of the shooting on December 30. "He found her here at this location and some type of argument happened and that's when shots were fired."
North Charleston Police say the children's father, 24-year-old Kevin Drayton, came to the home off Victory Lane and shot his girlfriend and her mother, who tried to get in between the two, before turning the gun on himself.
