Investigators searching for suspects in home invasion, assault

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators are looking for five men who broke into a home, assaulted the residents and stole jewelry and electronics from a home on 100 block of Gunn Avenue in West Ashley Monday night.

According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, five black males armed with guns, entered a home around 11 p.m. Monday and assaulted the residents.

It all started when one of the victims was outside the home working on a car and was jumped by one of the suspects. Two other suspects then pulled the victim from under the vehicle.

When another victim came out of the house to see what was happening, all the suspects rushed the door and grabbed the second victim. Once the suspects were inside the house, the victims were put on the floor of the living room.

According to an incident report, when of the suspects went towards a bedroom, one of the victims jumped up because her daughter was sleeping in the room. The suspect then struck the woman several times in the back of the head using his gun.

One of the suspects then woke the daughter and took her out of the room.

The victims told deputies the suspects were running through the house going through everything. During this time, investigators say one of the victims was struck in the back of the head and kicked several times.

According to the victims, the suspects kept saying,"15 minutes max, 15 minutes max." The suspects then fled the house.
