Woman flown to burn center, 2 dogs killed in Ridgeville fire

RIDGEVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A woman was severely burned and two dogs were killed in a house fire Tuesday morning in Ridgeville. The woman was flown to the Augusta Burn Center.

Firefighters say the homeowner suffered severe burns in the blaze, which ignited around 4 a.m. Tuesday, killing two dogs. The home, which is located on 4 Holes Road just off Wire Road, was destroyed in the fire.

Crews from several fire departments including Dorchester County and St. George were on the scene for hours battling the flames.

The narrow, private dirt road made it difficult for firefighters to have full access to the blaze.

The woman's condition is unknown at this time and fire officials are still investigating the fire.
