CCSD board votes not to give stipends to outsourced workers

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - 91 outsourced day porters will not receive a Loyalty and Achievement stipend from the Charleston County School District.

The district's Board of Trustees twice voted not to give the workers the stipend.  The first motion was to award a $500 bonus to each worker, while the second motion was to award a $350 bonus to each former employee.

According to spokesman Jason Sakran, awarding the bonuses would have cost the district an additional $50,000.
