DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Bond was denied on Wednesday for a 23-year-old who is the latest person to be charged in the December murder of a 19-year-old man in Summerville.

Christopher John Haynes, aka Rock, was denied bond on Wednesday for murder. Haynes is also charged with armed robbery.

After conducting multiple interviews during the investigation, deputies say Haynes was present and assisted Dana Andrew Butler Jr. with the robbery and murder of 19-year-old William Cummings on Dec. 19.

Deputies already arrested Butler, 17-year-old Enphaie Swarez, 19-year-old Ramera Stroman and 17-year-old Anthony Pierce in connection with the murder.

Both Swarez and Stroman were charged with criminal conspiracy and given a $40,000 bond. Butler is charged with armed robbery and murder and Pierce is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and criminal conspiracy. He is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Investigators say the murder was a result of a set-up during a drug deal. Investigators believe that Swarez and Stroman met Cummings at an apartment complex off Orangeburg Road to buy marijuana when Butler emerged from a wooded area with a gun and began firing. Pierce was driving the vehicle the victim was located, according to deputies.
