MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Several residents in the Mt. Pleasant area reported shaking or a booming sound Thursday afternoon.
U.S. Geological Survey and College of Charleston geology officials say there were no indications of an earthquake although many residents reported shaking throughout the area.
"My house just shook twice around Clements Ferry and HWY 41," John Spry said on the Live 5 News Facebook page.
"We felt it Wando too with a boom and windows rattled," Jerri Babson said.
"I felt them in old village in MP and heard from IOP they did!" Alisa Freeman said.
Officials with the USGS say that if it was a small earthquake it would be difficult to verify because of the small magnitude and it would take some time to locate.
