Downtown corner store robbed at gunpoint

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston City Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday morning at a corner store on Mt. Pleasant Street in Downtown Charleston.

Officers were called out to Sammy's Corner Store in reference to a gunman who entered the store and demanded money. Authorities say the suspect then fled out the door.

Police describes the suspect as a black man between 19 to 25 years old, 5'7", with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket.

Investigators say no one was hurt in this incident and the suspect is still on the run.
