BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The State Infrastructure Bank has approved $15 million on Tuesday to widen I-26 from exit 199 to 197 in Berkeley County.
State Representative Chip Limehouse says the widening will make room for two large distribution centers to move in on Sheep Island Road and bring hundreds of jobs with them.
"I'm very pleased my motion before the State Infrastructure Bank board was successful," Rep. Limehouse said."As a result of that we will be creating hundreds of jobs for the Lowcountry. It is gratifying that the SIB board has become such an outstanding economic development tool."
