BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A man is facing DUI charges after authorities say he struck a Berkeley County deputy who was directing traffic on the outskirts of Moncks Corner on Tuesday night.
Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say 45-year-old Jeffery Grover struck the sheriff's deputy who was helping reroute traffic around a previous wreck on South Live Oak Drive near Frederick Douglas Road just after 7:15 p.m.
The deputy, 25-year-old Cody Graff, was not seriously injured during the incident.
Grover was driving 1999 Ford SUV, troopers said. He is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He is being held in the Berkeley County Detention Center.
Highway Patrol said the incident was still under investigation.
