Comedian Stephen Colbert will hold a rally Friday with former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain in downtown Charleston, according to Colbert's website.
Colbert, a Charleston native, announced details of "The Rock Me Like a Herman Cain: South Cain-Olina Primary Rally" on Thursday.
"Herman is the only former candidate who truly shares my values," Colbert said. "It's like our values were separated at birth. And our ethics are at least first cousins."
The free rally will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cistern in front of historic Randolph Hall at the College of Charleston. The area will open to guests starting at noon.
Colbert has formed the Super PAC "Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow." This month the group released a series of political ads airing only here in Charleston on Live 5 WCSC.
Colbert said he is still considering a run for the White House, but candidates cannot have any direct link to Super PACs. Because of that, several days ago he broke ties with his Super PAC and handed control over to fellow comedian Jon Stewart.
