ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has arrested a third suspect in connection to the theft of 51 lawn mowers stolen from a manufacturing plant.
Deputies have arrested 41-year-old Darion Priester Friday morning after the lawn mowers were taken from a manufacturing company's storage space in Orangeburg. Priester is charged with grand larceny and was released on a $15,000 dollar surety bond.
Investigators have also charged 61-year-old Danny Davis and 28-year-old Chiquita Haynes with grand larceny.
On Dec. 30, 2011, an employee of a lawn mower manufacturing facility in Orangeburg notified the sheriff's office that a trailer containing lawn mowers was missing from a storage site.
According to investigators, two of the suspects were employees at the plant who conspired with a former employee to remove the trailer from the storage site.
Authorities say 51 lawn mowers were stolen and 21 have been recovered. The lawn mowers are valued at $1,000 each.
