GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Police have charged a 17-year-old boy with attempted murder after investigators say the suspect shot at two people in a car in Goose Creek.
The Goose Creek Police Department charged Joseph Kosmela with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and trespassing on private property.
Around 11:48 a.m., investigators say as a car was driving by the Veterans of Foreign Wars building near the Circle K convenience store their vehicle was struck by two bullets.
Police say they were fired from a pistol by a suspect standing on the shoulder of the road.
A police report states that the suspect then fled into the woods behind the VFW headed toward the Beverly Hills subdivision. A Goose Creek patrol officer then located the suspect in the Beverly Hills subdivision walking along the roadway.
Police say neither of the vehicle occupants were injured.
Investigators say the relationship between the victims and suspect as well as the motive for the shooting are under investigation.
Authorities are on scene processing the victim's vehicle and assisting in the search for the firearm.
