Summerville man wanted for fatal shooting

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Orangeburg County sheriff's deputies are looking for a 32-year-old Summerville man accused of fatally shooting another man Thursday night.

Deputies responded to a shooting incident on Peach Shed Road in Vance at 10:46 p.m. Thursday. When deputies arrived, they found a 50-year-old victim lying on his stomach suffering from a gunshot wound.

Investigators believe the victim and 32-year-old Demetrice Dwight Perry were arguing and then Perry fired a handgun at the victim's abdomen and fled the scene.

"We will investigate and search for anyone in and out of this county for crimes committed here against our citizens," said Major Rene Williams. "Too often we find where individuals come into our county, commit a crime, and then flee, expecting to escape prosecution. And if you are helping someone hide, after they have committed a crime here, we are coming after you too. We are coming with the full resources of this agency."

If you have any information concerning Perry's whereabouts, you are asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
