ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - A burglary investigation led Orangeburg County deputies to a major marijuana bust and the arrest of a Eutawville man.
Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office Major Rene Williams says deputies approached a home on Monks Corner Road while investigating a burglary and saw an item that was believed to have been stolen in the case. Deputies obtained a search warrant and once inside, they verified the serial numbers of a television stolen from another home.
Also during the search, deputies found a total of 10 pounds of marijuana, two shotguns, and a pistol. Deputies say the marijuana is worth about $20,000.
Deputies arrested 26 year-old Maurice Tyrone Johnson, who lived at the house. He is charged with drug trafficking and manufacturing drugs.
Johnson has been released on a $21,000 bond.
