WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - A 30-year-old North Charleston man was arrested after police officers say he pointed a BB gun at another driver on Savannah Highway.
Charleston police charged Matthew Floyd Tittle and charged him with pointing or presenting a firearm.
Officers responded to 1807 Savannah Highway on Friday in reference to a driver pointing a gun at another driver. The victim said that Tittle, driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a trailer in tow, had cut him off.
According to the victim, while both men were stopped at the intersection of Orleans Road and Savannah Highway, Tittle then pulled a gun out, pointed it at the victim and "was in a rage arguing."
The victim said he did not know what Tittle was saying since his window was up and immediately called 911. Officers found the suspect's car at a gas station and arrested Tittle.
Officers say they also located a BB gun inside the Tittle's car.
Tittle told officers that he had flashed the gun at the victim because he was afraid the victim was going to run him off the road. The suspect said that the gun was a toy and that he never meant to do any harm.
