Bicyclist killed in school bus accident identified

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a bicyclist was killed after he was struck by a school bus in Berkeley County on Monday afternoon.

The victim, identified as 49-year-old Addison Robinson, Jr. of St Stephen, was flown to MUSC where he later died due to multiple body trauma. The coroner's office has ruled the death to be accidental.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was traveling east on Universal Circle in St. Stephen when he shifted lanes in front of the school bus and was struck by the vehicle.

Three students were on the bus, but were not injured.

Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation.
