Large cruise ship making port call in Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A large cruise ship is making a port call in Charleston.

The liner Oceana operated by P & O Cruises is to dock in Charleston early Thursday. The ship and its almost 2,000 passengers are visiting before the liner crosses the Atlantic for the Azores.

The Oceana departs from Charleston late Thursday afternoon.

Tourism is a $14 billion industry in South Carolina and cruises account for about $37 million of that.
