ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say they have arrested a Summerville woman accused of driving a man out of Orangeburg County after he fatally shot a man.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has charged Joann Jefferson with accessory after the fact to murder.
Earlier this week, authorities charged 32-year-old Demetrice Dwight Perry of Summerville with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
"Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety on Joann Jefferson. Jefferson was arrested and after making statements to investigators that following a fatal shooting on Peach Shed Road January 26, she transported Demetrice Dwight Perry from Vance to Summerville,"Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said.
Deputies responded to a shooting incident on Peach Shed Road in Vance at 10:46 p.m. last Thursday. When deputies arrived, they found a 50-year-old victim lying on his stomach suffering from a gunshot wound.
