WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police have arrested and charged a teenager in connection with a West Ashley shooting which left two injured in mid-January.
Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis said 17-year-old Tarico Robinson is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and 2nd-degree assault and battery. Police say the shooting happened around midnight on January 14, just after the victims left a party on William Kennerty Drive.
According to police, the victims were sitting inside their vehicle at the corner of William Kennerty Drive and Ashley River Road when a white sedan pulled up on their right side and Robinson fired several shots at their vehicle.
Two passengers in the rear of the vehicle were shot and driven to St. Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Robinson is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
