Morning fire destroys mobile home, leaves family homeless

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A fire destroyed a mobile home in Colleton County and left a family homeless Tuesday morning.

Emergency officials responded to a home on Roadside Drive in Yemassee around 1:35 a.m. after neighbors reported that the home was on fire and that the roof was already gone.

When fire crews arrived, they found the roof and walls on three sides of the double wide mobile home were completely burned away with most of the floor collapsed.

Authorities say no one was at home when the fire occurred.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
