MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Mt. Pleasant police arrested two young women last week in connection with the late-January burglaries of two consignment shops, which they say were inside jobs.

Captain Stan Gragg said 18-year-old Martha D. Leary and 20-year-old Jessica A. Dupree, both from Charleston, were arrested last Thursday for their roles in the burglaries of Butterfly Consignment Shop on Long Point Road and Victoria's Consignment Shop on Houston Northcutt Boulevard.

Both burglaries happened on January 20.  Police said Leary is a former employee of both businesses.

Leary and Dupree are each charged with two counts of 2nd-degree burglary.

More arrests are expected, according to Captain Gragg.
