Most Wanted suspect arrested for attempted murder

North Charleston police have arrested a man wanted for an attempted murder which happened two Septembers ago.

Desron Lamar Junes, 21, was featured as last week's Live 5 Most Wanted suspect. He was taken into custody Tuesday night by North Charleston police officers and US marshals after receiving an anonymous tip. According to police, Junes was in possession of .16 grams of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

Police say Junes stabbed a man at Max's Quick Stop on McMillian Avenue in September 2010. Investigators say the stabbing was captured on the store's surveillance cameras.

"Purposely bumps into the victim, a verbal altercation ensued," said North Charleston Police Sgt. James Hill.

Police say the argument between Junes and the victim turned violent.

"Mr. Junes produces a knife and stabs the victim multiple times in the torso area," Hill said.

Investigators don't know what the argument was about.

"We don't know what their prior altercation was, if they had any at all, whether he was just looking to pick a fight," Hill said.

Detectives identified Junes as their suspect after talking to the victim and looking at surveillance video from the store.
