1 injured after motorcycle crashes into truck on Wadmalaw Island

WADMALAW ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that sent one man to the hospital Wednesday night after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck on Wadmalaw Island.

The accident happened at 7:44 p.m. on Bears Bluff Road. Troopers say the driver of a 2009 Ford pickup truck was driving on Bears Bluff Road turning into a church parking lot, when the driver of a 1998 Honda motorcycle crashed into his truck.

The driver of the pickup was not hurt and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Troopers say the motorcyclist was wearing his helmet and was taken to MUSC in serious condition.

Authorities with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the accident and not one has been charged.
