Bond set at $250,000 for man facing drug, gun charges

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A man wanted on drug and gun charges went before a bond court judge Saturday morning in Charleston.

Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis said 21-year-old Darius Malloy turned himself in this week after a Wednesday search of his home turned up 55 grams of cocaine, 34 grams of cocaine base, and two handguns, one of which was reported stolen out of Mt. Pleasant. Officers also found $400 in cash and a bulletproof vest, Francis said.

His bond was set at $250,000 Saturday for charges of trafficking cocaine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Malloy is on state probation for possession of cocaine base and was already out on bond when the search occurred for possession of marijuana 3rd offense, possession of cocaine base, and possession of cocaine base with the intent to distribute.

He is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
