Family of 5 displaced after North Charleston fire

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The Red Cross is helping a family of five in North Charleston after a fire destroyed their home.

The fire started Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Accabee Road just after 7:15 a.m., according to North Charleston Fire Department spokeswoman Bianca Sancic.

Flames were seen shooting out of the house when firefighters arrived on scene.  Sancic said the fire affected two adjacent homes, one of which suffered significant damage.

No one was injured in the fire and the cause of the original fire remains under investigation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
