Suspect apprehended after running away during hearing

GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) - A 20-year-old man is back in police custody after he ran away from a revocation hearing Monday morning. He was apprehended a short time later after a search in Georgetown.

According to the South Carolina Department of Probation, Franklin E. Grant ran away from a hearing that was being conducted at the Georgetown County Probation and Parole office.

Probation and parole agents and other law enforcement agencies began searching for Grant immediately and eventually located him and took him into custody.

Grant was serving a Youthful Offender Act conditional release sentence for two counts of breaking into a motor vehicle. He had charged him with violation of his conditional release, which was the purpose of the hearing.
