CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Underwater recovery personnel removed two cars Tuesday that were found in the water of Rantowles Creek off of the Peter Miller Bridge.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says that initially it was believed that there were three vehicles in the creek, but a search revealed there were only two. Both vehicles were recovered.
Investigators say that based on the condition of the vehicles they have been in the water for a prolonged period of time.
One vehicle has been identified as a Honda, but the other vehicle has not yet been identified because of its deteriorated condition. Investigators will begin trying to identify the vehicles and determine ownership.
Deputies discovered the cars Monday, but had to wait for low tide to remove them.
