ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - Deputies say they discovered a stolen AK-47, handguns and narcotics at a drug dealer's home in Orangeburg.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Carver School Road and Eaglewood Drive in Cope after a concerned citizen heard gunshots.
Investigators in the area located a vehicle with a shattered windshield and busted driver's side window behind a home on Eaglewood Drive. According to authorities, when deputies entered the home to locate a victim, they discovered narcotics and evidence of a fight in the kitchen.
The sheriff's office says 41-year-old Shawn D. Stanback returned to the home and made statements to deputies that the narcotics belonged to him.
During a search of the home, authorities say they also located four handguns and a stolen AK-47.
"This investigation revealed a tool criminals are using to hide their narcotics. A standard 20 ounce bottle of bottled water was used to hide narcotics in a compartment behind the label," Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said."Criminals are advancing their techniques to continue their criminal enterprise and it is our responsibility to know their next move too."
Stanback was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a stolen weapon.
