CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man has died in a house fire in Horry County.

Coroner Robert Edge says James Smith died Saturday night of smoke inhalation.

Authorities say the fire was reported at around 10 p.m. Saturday. Horry County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Leslie Yancey says heavy flames were showing from the single-family home when firefighters arrived.

Yancey says another person was taken to a hospital with minor burns. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
