CHARLESTON, SC -

For the third time this season, Charleston Southern senior forward Kelvin Martin has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

Martin rounded out his home career in style by pumping in 21 points and nine rebounds per game in the Bucs' victories over Gardner-Webb and Wofford. The 6-5 Adel, Ga. native tallied 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting and handed out 3 assists versus the Runnin' Bulldogs in CSU's 73-58 win, but saved his best for the senior day contest against the Terriers.

Following a pregame ceremony honoring his achievements, Martin was a force from the opening tip as he racked up a double-double in the first half alone with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Martin went on to total a career-high 27 points and ripped down 14 rebounds - including six on the offensive end - while matching a career-high with nine made free throws. It was the tenth double-double of the campaign for Martin, who left to a standing ovation as CSU rolled to a 77-59 win.

Martin is the first player to earn the distinction on three occasions this year, as Presbyterian's Al'Lonzo Coleman is the only other man to win the award multiple times.

CSU hits the road to wrap up the regular season starting this Thursday at VMI. Tipoff at Cameron Hall in Lexington, Va., is slated for 7 p.m. The Bucs will then head to Radford for a 4:30 p.m. start on Saturday before beginning play in the Big South Conference Tournament on Wednesday, February 29.
