CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - There were lots of hugs and kisses as the crew of the Coast Guard cutter Dallas returned to the Charleston harbor on Tuesday.
The Dallas' last mission was completing a three month patrol of the Caribbean Sea. The crew arrested several people and intercepted drugs and marijuana during their patrol.
The cutter is scheduled for a de-commissioning ceremony March 30 and will be transferred to the Philippine Navy by the end of May 2012.
The Coast Guard says the de-commissioning is natural that they have to do this as they bring on new assets.
