ORANGEBURG, SC -

South Carolina State will make its third appearance in the prestigious Circle City Classic Football Game Oct. 6, 2012 when the Bulldogs meet Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foe North Carolina Central in Indianapolis, IN.

The SC State – NC Central contest was originally set to be played at NC Central's 10,000-seat O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium in Durham, however, it will now be played at the 63,000-seat Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. Kickoff has been tentatively set for 2:30 p.m.
In their two previous appearances in the Circle City Classic, the Bulldogs played Jackson State (1993) and Tennessee State (2004). SC State is 2-0 in those games with a 34-33 win over Jackson State and a 30-13 triumph over Tennessee State.

SC State announced its 11-game 2012 schedule earlier. The slate includes two Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools and four home games. The Bulldogs open the 2012 campaign Thursday, Aug. 30, against Georgia State in Atlanta. The first home contest will follow on Sept. 8 against MEAC rival Bethune-Cookman.

Coach Buddy Pough's Bulldogs finished 7-4 overall last year and were 6-2 in the MEAC for a tie for second place.
