Coroner identifies man killed in overturned vehicle accident

AWENDAW, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified a man who was killed after a vehicle overturned Thursday night on Guerins Bridge Road in the Francis Marion National Forest.

Authorities say 44-year-old Charles Brisben from Huger died as a result of blunt trauma.

Charleston County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Guerin's Bridge Road around 7 p.m. for a single vehicle accident.

When deputies arrived they found a Chrysler Town and Country van which had overturned.

According to investigators, the driver was traveling too fast to negotiate the curve in the roadway, ran off of the road into a ditch, then overcorrected and overturned after striking a tree.
