BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities located the body of a second fishermen Sunday afternoon in Lake Marion.
The Berkeley County Rescue Squad and South Carolina Department Natural Resources conducted a search for the second missing fisherman at the lake.
Authorities say 33-year-old Douglas Smith from Ravenel was spotted near Pintail island, the same area his friend 28-year-old Michael Muse was found on Saturday. Smith's body was discovered at around 5:25 p.m. from a helicopter.
Both agencies used a boat and an airplane from DNR and a helicopter from a local citizen who flies for the rescue squad in search of Smith.
The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has ruled both Muse and Smith's death accidental and the cause of death as drowning.
The pair have been missing for two weeks. They left for an overnight fishing trip on Feb. 11. When they didn't return the next day, their families called police.
